Weekly dev update - V1.1 & V1.2
Jan 21, 2026

The past week has been one of our busiest. We shipped two updates back-to-back.
V1.1 was about stability, and making sure MOTRA works properly for everyone.
Accessibility support is now in place across the app. VoiceOver and larger text settings work consistently on every screen, which was a must-fix for us early on. We also spent time refining spacing, typography, and visual hierarchy throughout the app. Nothing flashy here, but the overall experience is noticeably cleaner and more cohesive.
We also optimised layouts for iPad. MOTRA now feels native on larger screens rather than a stretched iPhone app. Finally, v1.1 marked our global App Store launch, making MOTRA available worldwide.
Version 1.2 moved the product forward in a big way.
The headline feature is historical workout data. New users can now import up to 90 days of training history from before sign-up.
We also launched the first Apple Watch app. You can now see your training directly from your wrist, which is an important step towards tighter, more real-time integration with workouts.
The launch experience has been improved with a redesigned loading screen, making first impressions smoother and more intentional. Activity detail screens for walking and cycling have been enhanced too, with more useful insights.
Finally, profile pictures are now live. You can add a profile icon or upload your own image, which is a small change but an important one for identity and community as the platform grows.
We know onboarding needs work.
We’ve had consistent feedback around sign-up friction, unclear steps during first use, and confusion around connections and permissions. That feedback is fair, and we agree.
Right now, our main focus is improving onboarding. That includes clearer guidance during sign-up, better explanations of what MOTRA is doing in the background, and reducing the number of points where users can get stuck or drop off.
This is our top priority.
Thank you for the feedback (and please keep it coming)
The feedback so far has been incredibly valuable. Bug reports, DMs, screenshots, and honest criticism have already directly shaped what we shipped this week.
If something feels confusing, broken, or unfinished, tell us. If there’s something you expected MOTRA to do that it doesn’t yet, tell us that too. We are building this in public, and early input matters more than anything else you can do for us.
More updates coming very soon.
